Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving, all! My favorite holiday! I have to spend a good portion of the long weekend working on a motion (boo) but going to try to squeeze in some relaxation as well. As for the outfit, I kept it casual in a linen skirt, but chose to skip the jeans because its a whopping 90+ degrees in LA today.... which makes it a bit hard to get in the holiday spirit. For Realz, Though....

What up!! I am pretty sure once every few months or so i come on here and say i am going to start blogging again... and then i never do. But THIS TIME I MEAN IT!! :) Dressed in my usual uniform (pencil skirt + cardigan + heels) today.... side note these shoes are from Target and they are so damn comfy! I purchased (and re-purchased) the Merona version of these heels (that every shoe brand seems to make now) so many times, and was sad when they stopped carrying them. But now they have this new version by "a new day" and they are 7,098 times more comfortable than the Merona ones AND the Steve Madden version. So.... buy some today, y'all.

Ripped Off

I ripped this look off directly from Jessica on the blog Here & Now (which btw, is a great blog - she is a teacher and is adorable and has great style; I gravitate toward blogs that are more approachable, fashion-wise, and also work-appropriate -- hers fits the bill for sure...btw, how many different punctuation marks do you think I could fit into this parenthetical?), and I love how it came together. Just wish my cobalt blue pencil skirt was actually fitting at the moment because it would have looked great with this. Also wish I had some cute gray suede pumps to pair with it.... next on the wishlist i s'pose. Monday, You're A Jerk

Might as well get the worst part of the week over with. Shirt: BDG / Skirt: Forever 21 / Shoes: Enzo Angiolini Karen says... If I seem a bit not impressed right now, it's because I feel every bit as "ridden hard and put away wet" as I look. Such a crass but apropos expression. The filter of this photo deliberately obscures my face because every bit of makeup had been wiped off as I continually buried my face in my hands during a very draining deposition. I don't know why I always have two appearances stacked into one day, versus just a couple of appearances spread out across the week. But today was a visit to good ol' Stanley Mosk followed by a massively frustrating deposition full of stops and starts. Anyway, so glad the day is over. As for the outfit, I did plan ahead on it but I just wanted something comfortable and conservative. Gosh, how boring it is to dress the part. Top: Merona x Target / Skirt: Merona x Target / Shoes

Too Chipper

I am wearing TWO exciting purchases today. One - these shoes . OMG. They are perfection (dont think my pic does them justice). And they are $30 from Target. Comfy, cute, go with everything.... seriously does not get better. I expect to wear these basically every other day throughout open-toe shoe season (which in LA is 10 months per year). In fact, I am buying them in black too. Run, don't walk. Two - these jeans. My fave jeans of all time are Gap's "Always Skinny." When I had to buy new jeans recently (for weight loss as opposed to weight gain reasons this time - huzzah!), I went to Gap only to discover that at some point they discontinued the Always Skinny and replaced them with the "True Skinny." Unfortunately, the True Skinny jeans do not do my body any favors. :( Thankfully, ebay came to the rescue (again!) and I discovered there are many, many, many people still selling my beloved discontinued style... and at half the price or even less! I mean
